At Inszone Insurance Services, we proudly recognize employees who use their Charitable Time Off (CTO) to support organizations making a meaningful difference in their communities. On March 6, 2026, Melissa Irons volunteered her time at the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) State Finals Tournament in support of the Greater Battle Creek Ice Hockey Association (GBCIHA).
The GBCIHA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting youth hockey in the Battle Creek area, driven by the belief that sports play a vital role in shaping a child’s development. The MAHA State Finals Tournament is the ultimate competition for High School Prep teams (ages 14-18) competing to earn the title of State Champion.

During the event, Melissa served as the team manager. Her crucial administrative responsibilities included participating in a rigorous audit to verify the team’s record, USA Hockey registrations, and birth certificates. While the games were underway, she ran the penalty box and assisted players on the bench with injuries and broken equipment.
Melissa’s connection to the GBCIHA runs incredibly deep. She has been involved with the association since 2005 when her children first began playing. Even though her children have since graduated, Melissa and her husband continue to dedicate their time to the organization. Her husband has served as the head coach of the High School Prep Team for thirteen years, while Melissa has taken on numerous roles—including team manager, official timekeeper, statistician, organizer for a 2025 showcase, and coordinator for the association’s BRUINS merchandise store.

We commend Melissa Irons for her long-standing commitment to serving her community and supporting youth athletics. At Inszone Insurance Services, we are proud to support employees like Melissa who embody our core values of service, teamwork, and community involvement through our Charitable Time Off program.
