On November 21, 2025, Dawn Melton volunteered at the Best Buddies InclusionLand Gala, one of the organization’s largest fundraising events of the year.

Best Buddies is a nonprofit dedicated to creating friendships, mentorship opportunities, and social support for youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through one-to-one friendships, leadership programs, and inclusive community experiences, Best Buddies ensures that individuals with special needs are seen, valued, and supported as they build confidence and independence.
The annual InclusionLand Gala raises essential funds through raffles, silent auctions, and a live auction, culminating in the highly anticipated announcement of the Champion of the Year for the North Texas chapter—an honor that celebrates exceptional volunteers and advocates. During the event, Dawn assisted with collecting auction items and coordinating bids throughout both the silent and live auction portions of the evening, helping ensure a smooth and successful fundraising effort.

Dawn’s connection to Best Buddies began through her daughter, who serves on the Best Buddies Texas Advisory Board. Attending events alongside her daughter has given Dawn a firsthand understanding of the impact the organization has on participants and families. She shared how deeply she admires the volunteers who devote their time to creating spaces where individuals with special needs are embraced for exactly who they are. Dawn has also introduced friends to the organization, including one whose nephew with Down syndrome has flourished through involvement with Best Buddies and the supportive community it offers.
We commend Dawn Melton for her dedication, compassion, and continued support of an organization that promotes friendship, inclusion, and empowerment. Her commitment reflects the heart of Inszone’s Charitable Time Off program and the spirit of service we’re proud to uphold.
