Community Spotlight: Jose Deschamps Supports the Skid Row Back to School Family Resource Event

At Inszone Insurance Services, we believe that investing in our local communities is just as important as the work we do in the office. Through our Charitable Time Off (CTO) program, Inszone employees are given paid time off to volunteer and support the non-profit organizations that mean the most to them. This month, we are proud to highlight Jose Deschamps, who recently used his CTO to support the Skid Row Community Back to School Family Resource event!

The Pasadena-Altadena Community Youth Association, operating as Coach Ron, is a local community organization and 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on youth programs, community support, and local outreach throughout the Pasadena and Altadena area. Its work centers on making sure young people in the community have the resources and encouragement they need to succeed.

Running from August 6th through August 28th, the Skid Row Community Back to School Family Resource event brought school supplies directly to children and families in need. The Lakewood team came together to organize a collective school-supply donation drive, contributing backpacks, notepads, crayons, pencils, and other essentials to help kids start the school year prepared.

Jose personally donated school supplies to support the event and the children attending. He also participated directly by walking through Skid Row and distributing donations to families and children in need. Meeting the families and interacting with the children made the experience a meaningful one for him.

Jose’s connection to the organization began through his work. As the Account Manager who services the insured’s organization and manages their insurance policy, he learned about the upcoming event directly from the client and wanted to contribute in any way he could. He reached out to VP Norma Villafranca to request approval to invite the Lakewood team to take part, turning an individual opportunity into a team effort.

“It was a meaningful experience to meet the families, interact with the children, and personally contribute,” Jose shared.

We are incredibly proud of Jose for turning a client relationship into a chance to give back, and for bringing his whole team along with him. Thank you, Jose, for representing Inszone’s core values and helping local children start the school year with everything they need!
