Derek Serra is a Benefits Account Manager at Inszone Insurance Services, joining the company in December 2025. Before his insurance career, Derek spent nearly 20 years working in Hollywood’s entertainment industry. When that chapter closed, he transitioned into insurance, bringing with him a career’s worth of communication skills, patience, and the ability to connect with people. He first entered the insurance industry in 2013 while transitioning careers, initially working part-time for years before moving to full-time. Today, he focuses on helping clients navigate their life and health insurance needs. Derek’s expertise is in life and health insurance, with a strong focus on the senior market, specializing in Medicare, long-term care, annuities, and final expense. His personal philosophy is rooted in respect, genuine service, and clear communication. Derek’s previous career as an artist in Hollywood involved transforming producers’ ideas into visual realities, requiring deep listening, patience, and the ability to translate visions into tangible results. He brings that same approach to insurance, turning clients’ needs into solutions.
Derek treats every client the way he wants to be treated. His priority is understanding their specific needs rather than pushing products that don’t serve them. If a situation falls outside his licensing, he connects clients with the right people. He believes long-term relationships are built on trust, and that is what he is here to earn. Derek is passionate about his work and focused on growing into a leadership role where he can continue creating value for his clients and for Inszone, while serving as a trusted resource for both.
In his free time, Derek enjoys being an artist and a computer geek. When he is not working, he is usually at his computer working on personal creative and tech projects.
