Employee Spotlight: Tania Gasca

8 August 2024

Here at Inszone, one of our missions is to make sure that every employee is appreciated, acknowledged, and recognized for their achievements. This Employee Spotlight series aims to celebrate success and highlight the talented individuals we have at Inszone, Cover Cannabis, and California Pool Association. Each month we’ll be featuring Inszone employees on our website, blog and social accounts.

Tania Gasca is an Integrations Department Manager at Inszone Insurance Services, joining the team in 2023. With over a decade of experience in the insurance industry, she has made meaningful contributions across various aspects of the business. Prior to joining Inszone, Tania served as the operations manager at her previous agency for over nine years, where she wore many hats. Her proven track record highlights her ability to lead successful teams in achieving company goals, ultimately benefiting customers. Tania has consistently demonstrated a people-focused approach throughout her career.

When asked to share some words about Tania, Richard Lemon, who is Inszone’s Chief Integration Officer, said, “We were fortunate to have worked with Tania as she came over with the acquisition of The Point in Downey, CA. She showed herself to be a natural leader with superior organizational skills and a genuine desire to help all those around her succeed. After recognizing this, it was clear that she had to be a part of our Integration Team. Alignment of our departmental needs came easy once she was onboard and Tania has, more than effectively, shown her skill set in handling all that is delivered to her, working with both sellers and employees to help them through the challenges of integration. Tania is a welcoming presence to all that deal with her and will not quit until the job is done.”

To get to know more about Tania, we asked her a couple of questions about her and her time in the insurance world:

Q: What initially brought you to the insurance industry?

A: I fell into the insurance industry by accident.  In 2011, my father worked for The Point Insurance Services (now known as the DO2 branch). The office was short-handed, and he recruited me to help.  A temporary position turned into a full time one and eventually unfolded into a 13-year-long career of service to our clients and team.

Q: In what ways do you think your unique background or experiences contribute to your success in your role?

A: I’ve been fortunate to work in many different industries, from entertainment to technology to insurance. What I have found is they are more alike than one would think. In my most recent role in tech, I created systems for account servicing which I’m slowly bringing over to Inszone. I believe a people-centered approach is one that will help differentiate us from today’s service industry.

Q: Can you share a particular challenging situation you faced in your career and how you overcame it?

A: Thinking on my toes has been part of the job for as long as I can remember.  One moment that comes to mind is when the pandemic hit, and we had to move everyone to work from home.  The owner of the agency was out of the country on a trip, and I had to act fast. This is a great example of how teamwork makes a huge difference. The department manager (shout out to Mike Salazar) and I collaborated to move the entire agency home within just a couple of short days. It took communication, collaboration and creativity and is a memory that lives on with me to this day.

Q: If you could describe your approach to teamwork in three words, what would they be and why?

A: Trust, Collaboration, and Communication.  You must be able to trust your team and 9 times out of 10 their ideas have significantly surpassed mine.  I’m not married to my idea – I’m married to what works.  By collaborating and communicating ideas, concerns, opportunities, etc. we become stronger as a team and as a force of change and betterment for ourselves and for the company.

Q: What do you think sets you apart, and how does it benefit your team and clients?

A: One of my mantras, both personally and professionally, is to “meet people where they are”.  This has allowed me to work with all types of individuals and I have learned (and keep learning) a ton along the way.  I also thrive on challenge and pressure.  As a result, I’ve learned to be resourceful and FIO (figure it out).  The mentality of “I don’t know, but I will figure it out” has always served me well. Overall, I work hard, strive to have a good attitude, and I believe work should be enjoyable.

Q: Who has been the biggest influence or mentor in your life, and what valuable lessons have you learned from them?

A: I wouldn’t say there’s one mentor.  I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a lot of smart people in my life.  My parents are both brilliant individuals who taught me the importance of humility and hard work.  My sister is incredibly smart and always reminds me to live in the moment and enjoy life.  Professionally, Raul Castillo has given me the opportunity to grow in my insurance career and has always allowed me the freedom to make mistakes and learn from them.  He took a chance on me when I had zero insurance experience and very little management experience – I’ll always be thankful for his guidance and wisdom.

Q: What accomplishment are you most proud of in your career so far, and what did it teach you?

A: At the beginning of the pandemic, I switched industries and moved into tech with zero experience in that field. Within my first year, I was chosen as Customer Success Manager of the year out of a pool of over 100 team members.  I had over 100 five-star reviews from customers and never received a review under five stars- something which had never been achieved previously.  Within the first year and a half, I moved from Success Manager to Senior to Lead and eventually to manage a team of Success Managers, many of whom I still stay in touch with.  It is a reminder to me that with hard work and determination, anything is possible.

Tania, we want to express our heartfelt thanks for your unwavering commitment and exceptional efforts. Your ability to consistently exceed expectations has not gone unnoticed, and we deeply value your contributions. Here’s to continuing our journey together and reaching new heights of success!
