Debra Hengst
Senior Personal Insurance Specialist
Debra Hengst is a Senior Personal Lines Specialist at Inszone Insurance Services, joining the company in August 2024 after the merger with San Antonio Insurance Services. Her career in insurance began in 1976 as a Vocational Office Education student, where she worked as a file clerk at St. Paul Insurance Company during high school. Impressed with her work ethic, her supervisor offered her a full-time position upon graduation, starting her 40-year journey in the industry. Although she briefly left to work on ranches in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Debra returned to San Antonio and resumed her insurance career, thanks to the mentorship of Tom Moore, an agency owner who helped her gain experience in various roles.
Debra’s diverse background includes a passion for rodeo, fishing, and hunting, which led her to join Bassmasters, a national bass fishing organization. She competed as a touring professional across the U.S., placing in several tournaments and even winning a boat. Her success attracted sponsorship offers from national organizations. Additionally, Debra is deeply involved in animal welfare, serving as a certified TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) advocate for feline rescues and managing her own colony. She is also a dedicated volunteer with the American Cancer Society, participating in annual fundraisers since 2022.
In her free time, Debra enjoys caring for animals and spending time outdoors. Known affectionately as “Snow White” for her love of animals, she finds fulfillment in her community involvement and outdoor adventures.
