She joined Inszone in February 2021 with over 20 years of leadership, customer service and sales experience in both personal and commercial lines insurance. She holds a designation as a Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) and enjoys working with her customers and reviewing their insurance portfolio to make sure they have the coverage they need at an affordable rate.

Sharon holds an insurance license in almost all states and has quickly grown her customer base all over the country. She continues to enjoy learning new skills and improving her expertise in the insurance industry.

When asked to share some words about Sharon, Natalie Fanin, who is Inszone’s Vice President of Commercial Lines Service and Sharon’s direct supervisor said, “Sharon has been an exemplary leader on my team. She is a friend and an amazing team player. There is no task too big or too difficult that she hasn’t been able to take on. Sharon has taken every challenge as an opportunity and consistently delivers great results. She is hard working, passionate and represents our company’s core values. Sharon has a way of developing meaningful relationships which creates a perfect environment to develop the next generation of professionals. I am very fortunate to have Sharon on my team.”

To get to know more about Sharon, we asked her a couple of question about her and her time in the insurance world:

Q: How did you get into the insurance industry?

A: I started in the insurance industry as a receptionist in a small Personal Lines Independent agency office with one Owner/Producer and a bookkeeper.

Q: What qualities do you have that make you a “great” insurance agent?

A: Honesty, Integrity, and Caring.  I am a genuine honest caring person and I take the time to get to know my clients and their business to make sure they have the best coverage at the best possible price.  This sometimes means doing quite a bit of research and asking a lot of questions. I am always learning and developing new skills and brainstorming new ideas on how we can do better each day.

Q: How would you define success?

A: Success is always doing your best and striving each day to do better than the day before.  Success is not accepting failure, which means never giving up no matter how hard life gets sometimes. Success is setting goals, achieving them, and then setting new goals so that you are always striving for excellence and growing. Success is building up others around you so they can be the best they can be.

Q: What makes you proud to work in the insurance industry?

A: I am proud to be in the Insurance Industry because I was able to build a career without a college degree while raising 5 kids on my own.  I love sharing my story and my vision with new team members or potential new team members on how this can be a successful career if you are willing to work hard and are coachable.

Q: How do you balance your career and family?

A: I remind myself how important it is for a work-home life balance.  This is an area for improvement for me since moving to Utah from California where most of my family still reside.  I do make trips to see my grandkids at least 4-6 times a year.  I also am sure to log off for family dinners and Netflix series. Someone shared the following quote with me, and I repeat it often to myself and other team members.  “We work to live; we DO NOT live to work.”

Q: What do you do in your personal time?

A: In my personal time I bowl with my husband on a bowling league, I should say, “I try to bowl” I am not very good.  I like to read leadership and personal growth books.  John Maxwell is one of my favorite authors, I just love listening to him teach.  I love spending time at the beach, my all-time favorite place to be.

Q: Can you share with us a personal quote that you live by?

A: Attract what you expect, reflect what you desire, become what you respect, and mirror what you admire.” – Deb Sofield. This quote was shared with me by someone I admire so much, and I keep it where I can read it every day.

As I mentioned I started in insurance industry as a receptionist, and I learned home and auto coverage very quickly and decided to get my insurance license.  I outgrew that little office after about a year and went to work for a bigger agency closer to home.  In this agency, I worked as a personal lines producer/account manager. On my first year at this agency, I won Top Salesperson for the year in the agency, and this was over all Producers including commercial, winning an all-expense paid Disneyland trip for my family.  This was an amazing surprise for my family as I had always dreamed of taking my kids to Disneyland at Christmas time.  This was an amazing accomplishment and fueled by drive for setting goals and exceeding them.  I was able to streamline the servicing procedures to save time and spend more time on the phone talking to customers and building the relationships that earned me all my sales.  I have always had the Phone First mentality as this was one way, I was able to get my work done much quicker and spend more time writing additional lines of business.

Your efforts and dedication have not gone unnoticed. We appreciate your hard work. May you keep up the good work! Again, congratulations, Sharon!
