Here at Inszone, one of our missions is to make sure that every employee is appreciated, acknowledged, and recognized for their achievements. This Employee Spotlight series aims to celebrate success and highlight the talented individuals we have at Inszone. This month, please join us in congratulating Fatima Gomez, our Employee Spotlight for the month of March!
Fatima Gomez is a Commercial Insurance Specialist at Inszone Insurance Services. She joined Inszone Insurance in 2019 and has been in the insurance industry for over 15 years, helping customers with their commercial insurance needs.
We asked Fatima’s supervisor to share some words, and the news spread from there. Multiple levels of leadership had wonderful things to say about her.
Jasmine Cordova, Commercial Account Manager Team Lead and Fatima’s direct supervisor said, “The saying, ‘A little progress each day adds up to big results,’ perfectly describes Fatima’s work ethic. Her growth on a daily basis is remarkable, and she handles every challenge with confidence and ease. Not only does she care deeply about her clients, but she also has a genuine concern for her colleagues, often lightening the mood with her hilarious mom jokes. Fatima has been an asset to the company, but more than that, she’s an incredible friend to everyone she works with.
Fatima exemplifies our company’s value of continuous learning, always eager to expand her knowledge and skillset. It’s been an absolute pleasure working alongside such a kind-hearted individual. Fatima, your contributions to the team have been invaluable, and we wish you nothing but the best in all your future endeavors.”
Norma Villafranca, VP-Los Angeles/Central California, and Fatima’s regional VP said, “It’s difficult to put into words just how much Fatima has done for our team and clients. Her service is unparalleled, consistently exceeding our expectations. Her unwavering dedication and hard work are nothing short of admirable, leaving us all in awe and inspired by her commitment to excellence. She’s the type of employee that every employer dreams of having on their team.
Thank you for everything you do for us, Fatima! We value your presence and we’re very proud of you!”
To get to know more about Fatima, we asked her a couple of questions about her and her time in the insurance world:
Q: Tell us about your start in the insurance industry?
A: It’s hard to believe that I’ve been in the insurance industry for 16 years now, considering it all started with a chance phone call back in 2007. I had just moved back from Vegas and was looking for work when my brother-in-law mentioned two people who were hiring. One was a property management company, and the other was an insurance broker. My first choice was the former, but after leaving several voicemails and not receiving a call back, I decided to try the latter.
I set up an interview with the insurance broker and was hired on the spot. Looking back, it seems like fate had a hand in it. I worked at that agency for 12 years until the owner retired, and we were merged with Inszone. I was nervous about the change, but it turned out to be a great opportunity for me to further my career and become part of a larger family.
What’s even more incredible is that my son is now my co-worker. Who could have predicted that my insurance journey would lead to this? I am grateful for every opportunity that has come my way and excited to see where this industry will take me next.
Q: What qualities do you have that make you a “great” insurance agent?
A: In my opinion, there is a multitude of qualities that make a great insurance agent, and one of them is a genuine concern for clients. I pride myself on being attentive and empathetic to their needs, as I strive to treat them how I would want to be treated myself. Respect and quality work are at the forefront of my mind when working with clients, and I give them my full attention and dedication to ensure they receive the best customer experience possible.
In addition, being bilingual is also a crucial asset in serving my community. I believe that it is important for people to have a trusted professional so they can communicate and express their insurance needs comfortably. By being able to connect with clients in their preferred language, I can offer them the personalized service they deserve. Overall, I am dedicated to providing exceptional service to all of my clients, and I am committed to continuously improving my skills to better serve them.
Q: How did you come to the conclusion that the insurance industry is a good fit for you?
A: To be completely honest, when I started my insurance career 16 years ago, I had the urge to quit during my first week. However, as the head of my household with three children, I knew that I had to persevere and make it work. With hard work and dedication, I began to view my job as a potential career path. Instead of seeing it as just a job, I was committed to expanding my knowledge and exploring new opportunities within the industry. As a result, I was able to grow in my career and develop a deeper passion for the work that I do.
Q: If you could sit down with your younger self, what is one piece of advice you would share?
A: It is important to remain receptive to new opportunities and continue learning throughout your career. Patience is also key, as sometimes it takes time for things to fall into place. By maintaining an open mindset and persevering through challenges, you can achieve success in your personal and professional endeavors.
Q: What’s something you do outside of work that would surprise your co-workers and clients?
A: My hobby and weekend side hustle involves crafting balloon photo backdrops for social events. Ever since I was young, I’ve had a passion for the arts and creativity, and it brings me joy to see the reactions of people when they see my completed work. It’s an incredibly fulfilling feeling to know that I’ve brought happiness to others through my creations, and it leaves me with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
Q: What interests you in a career at Inszone?
A: As the company continues to experience rapid growth, new opportunities are constantly arising. Thankfully, being a part of the Inszone family has allowed me to take advantage of these opportunities and expand my knowledge and skill set. From taking designation classes to assuming new roles such as account manager and producer, I have been able to further my career in ways that I never thought possible. What’s more, I have always felt that Inszone is fully supportive of its employees’ career aspirations, providing the resources and encouragement needed to achieve one’s goals.
Q: What quote keeps you inspired in your day-to-day life?
A: Try to be a Rainbow in someone’s cloud – Maya Angelou
Congratulations, Fatima! Your contributions have not gone unnoticed, and we are excited to continue working alongside you as we move forward. Thank you for all that you do!
