Here at Inszone, one of our missions is to make sure that every employee is appreciated, acknowledged, and recognized for their achievements. This Employee Spotlight series aims to celebrate success and highlight the talented individuals we have at Inszone. This month, please join us in congratulating Marlen Soto, our Employee Spotlight for the month of July!

Marlen Soto is a Personal Insurance Specialist in the Personal Lines Department here at Inszone Insurance Services. She began her career in the insurance industry in 2013 when she joined Full Cycle Insurance as a Customer Service Representative. Marlen gradually learned the trade and started growing within the company, eventually attaining her professional insurance license and beginning to help customers with their personal insurance needs.

Marlen’s extensive knowledge in the personal insurance world makes her an extremely valuable resource for the Inszone team and her customers. Marlen joined the Inszone Insurance team through our merger with Full Cycle Insurance, and although she’s only been with the company for less than a year, she has already made a huge positive impact. Her positive attitude and personality makes her a pleasure to work with.

When asked to share some words about Marlen, Sara Evans, who is Inszone’s Arizona State Manager and Marlen’s direct supervisor, said, “I love having Marlen on the team! She is always upbeat and positive and has endless patience with clients. Marlen is a BEAST when it comes to closing, if she can get you quoted and talking, she will sell you the policy! Congratulations Marlen on this well-deserved honor!”

To get to know Marlen a little better, we asked her a couple of question about her and her time in the insurance world. Here’s what she had to say:

Q: Tell us about your start in the insurance industry?

A: I became a customer service representative back in 2013, from there I started to develop a real passion for insurance, I just loved the feeling of helping customers. I eventually got my license a couple months later and started my journey with personal insurance.

Q: What excites you about insurance?

A: Being able to help customers with their insurance needs, that is always exciting. I get to meet people from all walks of life and I like to be a beacon of positivity and knowledge that they can learn from.  Insurance is always changing, and I feel grateful that my clients trust me and allow me to help get them protected.

Q: What has been one of your proudest moments in the insurance world?

A: I don’t have just one moment I can think of but being able to produce at a high level every month, I am very proud of that. I’m also proud every time I get to grow and expand my knowledge of insurance, because I know that I get to pass that knowledge on to customers that need it.

Q: How do you lead the way for our clients?

A: I lead the way for my clients by providing great customer service and steering them in the right direction when it comes to their insurance needs. Helping them identify their needs can make a real difference. I think it is extremely important for us as insurance agents to think of the best ways to protect our customers and provide all the information needed for them to make a decision.

Q: If you were not in insurance, what would you like to be doing?

A: Interesting, if I was not in the insurance world, I would probably own a food truck. To be more exact, I would own a food truck focused on selling delicious tacos.

Q: What is your career goal?

A: I want to create a strong relationship with my clients, which in turn will help me develop a very strong book of business and help me retain my customers for a long time. My path to growth is through customer satisfaction, I believe it’s the only path.

Q: If you could sit down with your younger self, what is one piece of advice you would share?

A: I would tell my younger self to live in the moment and not to worry as much. I often find myself worrying about what’s next instead of living in the moment. We all have one life to live, and it passes by very quickly, we should enjoy as much as we can as we never know when we will take our last breath.

Q: What’s something you do outside of work that would surprise your co-workers and clients?

A: It may not be such a surprise to those people who personally know me, but I love trying new local coffee shops and going hikes with my French bulldog, Zeke.

Q: What quote keeps you inspired in your day-to-day life?

A: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” – Wayne Gretsky
