Here at Inszone, one of our missions is to make sure that every employee is appreciated, acknowledged, and recognized for their achievements. This Employee Spotlight series aims to celebrate success and highlight the talented individuals we have at Inszone. This month, please join us in congratulating Carlos Campos, our Employee Spotlight for the month of May!
Carlos Campos is a Senior Commercial Insurance Specialist at Inszone Insurance Services. Carlos joined the Inszone family after the merger with McGhee Insurance Services, in Tucson, Arizona. Carlos has been in the insurance industry for several years, specializing in commercial insurance. He holds an Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) designation.
While Carlos is an incredibly skilled insurance specialist, he also exemplifies what it means to be a team player and is always happy to lend a helping hand, not only to his clients, but also to his teammates.
With over 5 years of experience in the industry, Carlos continues to learn and grow in the space– knowing the importance of his role when taking care of his clients and helping them protect their assets from unexpected emergencies. When talking to a customer, company underwriters, and co-workers, he believes that having a positive attitude and being helpful goes a long way.
Outside of the office, Carlos spends most of his time with his family. He is a proud husband and father of two kids, which keeps him pretty busy. Attending church, spending time with his family and friends, are some of the things Carlos loves to do. He also enjoys barbecuing, going out on small weekend getaways and making memories.
When asked to share some words about Carlos, Sara Evans, who is Inszone’s Arizona State Manager and Carlos’ direct supervisor, said, “Carlos is a true team player! He is the first-person people on our team go to when they need help. Carlos’s patience is endless. One of my favorite things about Carlos is how much he truly wants everyone around him to be successful. Congratulations Carlos!”
To get to know Carlos a little better, we asked him a couple of question about him and his time in the insurance world. Here’s what he had to say:
Q: Tell us about your start in the insurance industry?
A: I started in insurance about 5 years ago when Sean McGhee, previous Agency owner at McGhee insurance, offered me the job. I was working at Costco at that time and was looking for a more stable schedule. After securing my professional license, I started working personal lines accounts. I still remember my first mortgage company calling to confirm coverage for an insured and me feeling like I had no clue whether the home was covered for wind and hail!
Q: What has been one of your proudest moments in the insurance world?
A: I’m not sure I have a “proudest” moment but helping customers during a time of need, when their previous agent dropped the ball, or when they need insurance immediately to secure a contract is always satisfying. We often forget that we insure our customers’ most important possessions, their businesses, their houses, their cars, to me it’s important to remember that every now and then.
Something that I am very proud of, in 2022 our agency was named in Merchants Bonding Magazine as one of the Elite agencies due to having over $100,000 in premium written with them in one year. That was mainly due to my work in Probate Bonding. It feels good to put Inszone’s name up there with some of the biggest agencies in the state and country.
Q: If you were not in insurance, what would you like to be doing?
A: Probably something in the social service field and helping the elderly population. As an insurance agent I’ve become very familiar with probate court and probate bonding. This has made me very aware of the needs of this sector of the population.
Q: What is your career goal?
A: My career goal is to continue growing as an agent and secure other designations in insurance. Looking back five years, if I would have been told about all the opportunities that have been provided to me in my position at Inszone, I would have a hard time believing it.
Q: If you could sit down with your younger self, what is one piece of advice you would share?
A: Speak Up! I have always struggled with being timid. As I’ve aged, I have realized the importance of being heard and noticed. The value of your thoughts, insights, and opinions.
Q: What’s something you do outside of work that would surprise your co-workers and clients?
A: I play the drums! I have three brothers and when we were younger we played in a band together. I still play with our church band on some occasions.
Q: What quote keeps you inspired in your day-to-day life?
A: “If you’re not enjoying your work, you should either change your attitude or change your job” – Leo Tolstoy.
We are very pleased to recognize Carlos Campos as the 11th recipient of our Employee Spotlight. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and may you keep up the good work! Congratulations Carlos!
