Personal Lines Account Manager
Kathy Marlin is a Senior Personal Lines Insurance Specialist at Inszone Insurance Services, joining the company in May 2025 after the merger of Keokuk – LJ Insurance. She received her personal lines insurance license in October 2019 and was hired as a PL agent with Connection Insurance of Keokuk, IA, which became L J Insurance, and is now Inszone Insurance. Kathy has an Associate of Arts degree from Southeastern Community College in Keokuk, IA, and holds an Associate in Insurance (AINS) designation from The Institutes. Before her insurance career, she was an illustrator for over 30 years in the children’s educational publishing industry, working from her home studio for publishing companies across the country. Her experience as an illustrator trained her to look at details and manage her own business, including marketing, managing office hours, and meeting deadlines. She is skilled in Adobe Photoshop and has a strong background in self-sufficiency and problem-solving. Kathy has also been a contributor to the Keokuk Art Center and has had exhibits in their Round Room.
Kathy tries to treat her customers as she would want to be treated, with compassion, understanding, and dignity. She is passionate about doing her best for her customers and believes in treating people well, especially in the insurance industry where much can be difficult for customers to understand. Her personal philosophy is to always do her best in all things she does.
In her free time, Kathy continues to paint and illustrate projects for herself, enjoys reading, working outside in the yard, taking care of plants, and crocheting. She also has a full-size mounted bear from a bear hunt in Ontario, Canada, which won several awards at an Iowa state taxidermy show. Kathy looks forward to sitting on her dock in the sun with an iced tea, watching dragonflies and minnows, while contemplating her next canvas to paint in her studio.
